Turbidity is a physical property related to the scattering of light by particles that aresuspended in liquid. Commercial turbidimeters are priced at range hundreds tothousands dollars. Considering this scenario, it proposed work developmentof low-cost portable turbidimeter for monitoring turbidity processes. An infrared LEDwas used as emitter, and an phototransistor receiver. The signalprocessing control unit was developed with Arduino Uno platform. calibration theturbidimeter done means comparative test triplicate, using reference thecommercial 2100P, HACH®. able perform analysis inthe 100 1000 NTU, presenting innovation character given its portability andcomputer communication via USB, good price prototype, costing US$46.30
